Sonendo Introduces Second Generation CleanFlow™ Procedure Instrument for Enhanced Root Canal Treatment
Sonendo, Inc., a leading dental technology company focused on root canal cleaning procedures using its GentleWave® System, has unveiled its second-generation CleanFlow™ Procedure Instrument. This upgraded instrument aims to improve root canal treatments by offering improved sealing capabilities and enhanced procedural consistency. The CleanFlow Procedure Instrument, a crucial component of the GentleWave Procedure, has undergone several enhancements includes an optimized design and an advanced matrix system that contribute to more secure and enduring seals. This redesign delivers a heightened level of procedural consistency, simplifying the root canal treatment process for clinicians and enhancing the overall patient experience. On key additional feature of the second-generation instrument is its versatility. Dentists can now use a single procedure instrument for all teeth, streamlining their workflow and making the procedure more efficient.
Dr. Luis Missura of Precision Endodontics commented on the enhanced CleanFlow Procedure Instrument, stating, “The GentleWave Procedure gives reliable, comfortable, uncompromising disinfection that yields some of the best clinical results I’ve seen.”
Sonendo has been actively refining its product offerings. Last month, the company expanded the indication for the CleanFlow Procedure Instrument, allowing its use on anterior teeth, effectively replacing the legacy APM (Anterior Pre-Molar) Procedure Instrument. This expansion, coupled with the new matrix system and optimized design, reflects Sonendo’s ongoing commitment to innovation. The GentleWave System is FDA approved and the company has placed over 1,000 devices to date and over one million patients have been treated with the device. Every year in the United States there are 19 million root canal procedures and Sonendo believes the total U.S. market for its device is $1.9 billion.
