Nanox Partners with Varex Imaging on New Manufacturing and Supply Agreement
Nanox, a medical imaging technology company, has announced a new manufacturing and supply agreement with Varex Imaging Corporation, a leading manufacturer of X-ray imaging components. This strategic collaboration aims to propel the development of the Nanox.ARC Medical Imaging System, with a focus on enhancing medical imaging technology, reducing costs, and expanding global accessibility.
The Nanox.ARC system is a 3D tomosynthesis multisource imaging system that incorporates a proprietary digital cathode X-ray source. Nanox believes that this technology can provide the same functionalities as traditional X-ray cathodes while allowing for more cost-effective image production. The company is planning to launch a comprehensive imaging solution that integrates the Nanox.ARC with its teleradiology services, and intends to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) technology for seamless image capture, analysis, and interpretation by trained radiologists.
Varex Imaging Corporation, with over 70 years of experience, is renowned for supplying medical X-ray imaging components and image processing solutions to global X-ray imaging system manufacturers. Under the agreement, Nanox has the option to order X-ray tubes from Varex for use in its Nanox.ARC system. In exchange, Varex will manufacture and supply the X-ray tubes, with compensation based on a revenue-sharing fee tied to Nanox’s pay-per-scan revenue from Nanox.ARC systems worldwide. Nanox has also committed to using Varex X-ray tubes in a minimum percentage of deployed and operating Nanox.ARC systems, subject to regulatory clearance.
Erez Meltzer, Chief Executive Officer of Nanox, expressed pride in collaborating with a trusted US partner in medical imaging and highlighted their dedication to revolutionizing global healthcare accessibility through the Nanox.ARC system. Nanox received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on April 28, 2023, to market the Nanox.ARC system.
