Masimo Gets CE Mark for New Hemodynamic Monitoring Module; Facilitates Access to Real Time Data on a Single Display
Masimo, a global leader patient monitoring technologies, has received European Union Medical Device Regulation CE mark for its LiDCO® board-in-cable (BIC) module. The new module is designed to provide advanced hemodynamic monitoring and can connect to multi-patient monitoring platforms, such as the Masimo Root® Patient Monitoring and Connectivity Hub. The LiDCO BIC module enables clinicians to integrate LiDCO hemodynamic monitoring with other monitoring parameters on the Root patient monitoring hub. This means that, for the first time, a single solution can support comprehensive hemodynamic monitoring alongside other parameters without requiring a separate dedicated hemodynamic monitoring box. Masimo introduced the Root® Patient Monitoring and Connectivity Platform in 2013. It was designed to be as flexible and expandable as possible to facilitate the addition of other Masimo and third-party monitoring technologies such as the LiDCO module.
The LiDCO module is designed for user-friendly and efficient setup, using a patient’s existing arterial line and blood pressure transducer to monitor various advanced hemodynamic parameters. By combining Masimo’s rainbow SET® Pulse CO-Oximetry and LiDCO hemodynamic monitoring, clinicians can monitor a patient’s oxygen delivery, including key parameters like cardiac output, stroke volume, pulse rate, total hemoglobin, and fractional oxygen saturation. All of these parameters are displayed side by side in real time on the Root monitor’s high-resolution screen. It also leverages the beat-by-beat PulseCO algorithm, which offers more immediate feedback on fluid and hemodynamic status, thereby reducing delays seen with other hemodynamic monitors.
