Dentsply Sirona Highlights New Technologies at Las Vegas Professional Education Event
Dentsply Sirona recently showcased new products at Dentsply Sirona World 2023, an event for dental professionals, recently concluded in Las Vegas. The event brought together thousands of dental experts for a three-day experience focused on education and new technology offerings. Under the theme “The Future of Care,” Dentsply Sirona unveiled new products and solutions for dentistry.
Among the product announcements, Dentsply Sirona introduced updates to DS Core’s Communication Canvas, offering improved functionalities for communication and collaboration among users of 3rd party IO-scanners. DS Core is a comprehensive digital platform designed to streamline the collaboration between dentists and dental labs, simplifying the entire patient journey from image capturing to treatment. For dentists, DS Core offers modern cloud storage, ensuring patient files are readily accessible wherever they are needed. It facilitates seamless, GDPR/HIPAA compliant file-sharing, allowing secure collaboration with colleagues, partners, and patients. The platform includes a user-friendly communication canvas that supports various image formats, making patient communication and case acceptance more straightforward. It also provides an integrated ordering solution, simplifying communication with dental labs. For labs, DS Core is open to various scanner data and file formats, offering a unified platform for customer interactions. It centralizes data management, streamlining the lab’s workflow and ensuring HIPAA/GDPR compliance. DS Core is easily integrated into existing lab setups and promotes business growth by increasing visibility and reach within the dental community, all at no cost.
They also showcased the SureSmile Simulator, a tool powered by DS Core that aids dental professionals in assessing treatment options and engaging patients in informed decisions. The SureSmile Simulator offers dentists and orthodontists a powerful tool for patient engagement and treatment planning. Using an intraoral scan from the Primescan intraoral scanner, the simulator rapidly generates a 3D visualization of a patient’s potential new smile after SureSmile clear aligner treatment. This visualization helps improve patient acceptance by allowing them to see the expected treatment outcomes, estimated duration, and overall value, making it easier to communicate the benefits of investing in their oral health and aesthetics. Additionally, the workflow efficiency is enhanced as practitioners can create the smile image and initiate the SureSmile Aligner order right in the dental chair, streamlining the treatment process.
Also featured was OSSIX Agile, a pericardium membrane with unique properties for enhanced biocompatibility. The OSSIX product range is designed to address common regenerative challenges in dental and oral surgeries, providing clinical flexibility and ease of use. A key feature is the use of GLYMATRIX® technology, which mimics the natural glycation process in the human body to cross-link collagen molecules, creating a customizable collagen matrix with varying physical properties and longevity. OSSIX Agile™, powered by GLYMATRIX®, is a pericardium membrane known for its long-lasting barrier effect, supporting soft tissue healing for 4–6 months and offering easy handling with various fixation methods. Additionally, it boasts high biocompatibility, tensile strength, and tear resistance, making it an effective solution for dental procedures requiring barrier functionality and bone regeneration.
Finally, the company introduced the Midwest Energo electric handpiece to improve dental treatments. The platfrom has a lightweight motor and attachements designed for all day use.
The company announced today that they will host an investor day on November 9th to further showcase new technologies and highlight their corporate strategy.
