
Butterfly Network Introduces New Education Support Tools
Butterfly Network, a digital health company specializing in portable, semiconductor-based ultrasound technology and intuitive software, announced two new ultrasound education services aimed at enhancing point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) competency and confidence.
The two new ultrasound education offerings include Butterfly Certified™, which is a comprehensive program encompasses a range of virtual and in-person POCUS (point-of-care ultrasound) courses. Developed in partnership with the Global Ultrasound Institute (GUSI), Butterfly Certified™ is designed to align with local training and privileging requirements. The program, led by experts, offers tailored tracks across various medical specialties. These training packages can be adapted for individual learners or entire departments. Butterfly Certified™ is now available in the United States through direct Butterfly sales representatives.
The second offering is ScanLab™, an educational application powered by artificial intelligence. This standalone app provides written guides and reference imagery to assist learners during real-time scanning practice. It leverages AI image quality indicators to provide instant feedback for image adjustments and interactive AI labeling to help users identify key anatomy. The release date for ScanLab™ in the United States will be announced soon.

The Butterfly iQ+ ultrasound probe is able to conduct comprehensive whole-body assessments providing clinical grade imagery using a lightweight probe and smart phone. Its compact and lightweight design, makes it a valuable tool for medics and first responders working in the field and has a variety of use applications across numerous medical specialties.
Butterfly Network will showcase its new education offerings at two upcoming events: the American College of Emergency Physicians 2023 Scientific Assembly (ACEP23) in Philadelphia from October 9-11, and The ANESTHESIOLOGY® Annual Meeting in San Francisco from October 14-16.
